e greatest thing i ever felt was knowing that the kids my sister hung out with in highschool were completely lame.
that is to say, these kids peaked in middleschool. highschool was awkward.
theres like that 2 year integration period. where you really find a teansy bit part of yourself that makes your parents go berserk. then the last two years is kinda awesome, but you hate all of your friends and get really emo and listen to way too much aphex twin etc.etc. tacos etc.
no but really. you fight, you provoke. its like you want them to fucking kill you.
anyway,
there are the kids i knew that were cool. they were 2 years younger than me, but already too far ahead.
when most 13 year old kids were smoking weed in their parents basements and losing their virginity in lacrosse fields, i was working at the science museum babysitting an iguana named “Gandalf”.
I was teased for years by these kids. Because I was different.
Right now, I’m 22 watching anime, speaking 3 languages, living in New York, and vacationing from 4 months abroad in Europe. I’m the happiest i’ve ever been without any drug but my own blood weaving through hapless veins inside me. I love life, but more importantly...i love me. #isthatreallysobad #butnoreallymyasslooksfantastic
